Ministry of Sound presents Pete Gooding, appearing exclusively at Beijing Club, Hong Kong’s quintessential super-club this Thursday

What connects Laurent Garnier, Sasha, Dubfire, Digweed, Tom Middleton, Pete Tong, Nic Fancuilli, Carl Cox, Roger Sanchez, Steve Lawler, and Groove Armada? The answer? They’re all causing a mighty dancefloor fuss with Pete Gooding’s productions.

A very successful producer with a unique style of his own, Boys Noize will be coming to Hong Kong on October 10th (Friday) at Volar. Opium Soul V - ‘A monthly night of Deep, Uplifting and Soulful House Cuts’. This September features the return of the Ugly Army (Tai Pan Dan and Arun R performing together).  The theme set for the night is ‘camouflage dress code’.

In addition to the headline performance, support acts DJ May and DJ Tynee, two of Hong Kong’s most accomplished female DJs, join The Ugly Army, as GI Janes meet GI Joes in a militant mash up of house music.

The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong welcomes singer/songwriter Samantha James to MO Bar for two nights on 11 and 12 Sept 2008.  The performer’s smooth and sexy dance-pop music, together with MO Bar’s cool vibe and signature cocktails, will make for a night to remember.

The Winner of the Hong Kong final will represent Hong Kong at the World Finals in London on 26th & 27th of September 2008 against 30 other Countries. This is the 20th anniversary of this event in Hong Kong. Judges this Year will include Hong Kong former Champions DJ Tommy, DJ Galaxy, Lazy Ming, DJ Eric & Janva and guest DJ Judges Samir, Doze & Ricky Stone

Fans of Witness, the highly-acclaimed indie/alt-country rock act from the northern England town of Wigan, are in for a unique treat, as the band’s forming members, guitarist Ray Chan and vocalist Gerard Starkie, are reforming for a once-in-a-lifetime reunion show, right here in Hong Kong.

Contemporaries and friends of Wigan’s other famous sons, the Verve, who recently headlined Japan’s Summer Sonic festival, Witness were hailed as new indie hopes when the group’s debut, Before the Calm was released in 1999. The album was universally applauded, drawing much of its strength from Chan’s lithe guitar and vocalist Starkie’s sore-throated angel’s voice and haunting lyrics.

Hong Kong registered charity Angels for Orphans and M1NT are delighted to announce that they will be hosting a celebrity- attended, high-level charity fundraiser for orphans in Cambodia. The event is titled “Angels Rock”.

Angels Rock promises to be a glamorous evening of cocktails, fun and dancing, but most importantly will include an auction to raise funds for the orphans at Sunrise Children’s Village in Cambodia.

This event is on an invitation only basis for 3 days which plans to combine design, fashion, art, music, food and beverage and mixology.
