Think fun girls can’t sing? Think again! They planned their shopping schedule before they even arrived, they even bought extra suitcases to take home some special “trophies” from Hong Kong. While they’re getting ready to hit the market, they showed off their invincible vocal harmony and musical talent. Putting out their latest album ‘Spin The Wheel’ and traveling around the planet, they are certainly a lot more than just some band which toured with Westlife. Wanna know these 3 Irish beauties more? Bang the door! It’s a girls talk, with Bellefire!

Alyson: Alyson

C: Ciara Newell

Ca: Cathy Newell

K: Kelly Kilfeather

Alyson: Hey girls, how are you doing?

Ca: Great! Yeah! We’re really enjoying our time here in Hong Kong. It’s just fantastic, it’s our very first time here.

Alyson: I know that you had a showcase last night, which I managed to go to, and you were brilliant!

C: Oh Thank you. It’s brilliant! There’s loads of fans and everything there as well. And they were singing along, so it’s great to get to reaction for knowing the music from this side of the world.

K: And we got to meet two of your local artists as well. Endy and Fiona. So that was great!

Alyson: What dya think of them?

All: Real lovely!

C: We’re jamming and warming up backstage, so they were really really cool.

K: Endy’s really cute!

Alyson: As we’re talking about the fans, getting all hyped up and getting the banners up… I’m sure you must have seen lots of crazy banners. Maybe some “Marry Me” banner?

Ca: We’ve had a few alright. You know we were touring with Westlife before, about four months ago… so we’ve seen loads of crazy banners for THEM as well in the audience.

K: Yeah, once some of the fans made this big banner out of a bedsheet, and it was HUGE! There’s no way we could miss it. It’s a massive, big, “Bellefire”… but the people behind it was giving up, because it was blocking the whole show! So there was a little bit of a fight going on in the audience… (LOL)

Alyson: Since (Kmm kmm) WE are all young and beautiful… there must be a lot guys trying to get the digits… How about worst pick-up lines?

K: I think we intimidate a lot of guys, coz I spent 3 and a half years, single! No dates! Nothing! And like anytime you talk to a guy, I don’t know, they just…

Ca: Let me tell you, she’s made up for in the last year! (LOL)

K: I found a man! I found a man!

C: I have heard a few cheesy ones…

K: “Was your father a thief? Coz he stole the stars from the Heaven and put them in your eyes!”

All: OH NO!

C: “Here’s 20p, go call your mom, and tell her you won’t be home!” Terrible!!

Alyson: Alright, then what do you look for in a guy?

C: I suppose you have to be drawn from the presence where you’d have to…

Ca: Yeah… a nice face… I never notice whether they’re tall, or small, or chunky or skinny… I just notice the face really.

K: Yeah, they’ve got to have really sparky twinky eyes.

C: Gotta have character. Nice smile…

Ca: And we do like guys who make us laugh as well.

Alyson: Take the tip! Now let’s talk more about the three of you. How did you actually meet?

Ca: Well myself and Ciara are sisters. And Ciara first met Kelly a few years ago in Dublin, they were at an audition for a boy/girl band at the time, that the manager were putting together. But it wasn’t the kinda music that they were into. So they met up and discovered that they have similar taste in music.

K: We just went thinking, we didn’t have a hope. We’d go see what an audition is like. And we starting getting more nervous. We started going like, “Oh my god! We might actually get into this band!” And we can’t dance!

C: No seriously! We can’t!

Ca: And then I met Kelly, Kelly came around to our house for dinner one night, we started jamming, put a few songs together, and went up as a band to one of the final auditions and the manager just loved our songs.

C: He loved the songs. So we did a showcase for a record companies, so that’s how it all took off.

Alyson: How different was the first impression compared to now, that you’ve known each other for so long?

C:I shouldn’t ask Cathy that really.

K: Yeah, coz these girls known each other forever. When I first met Cathy, I thought she was really really shy, and really quiet.

C: Kinda like a little bit fragile?

K: No no… Now that I’ve known her, I know that she’s tough as anything, she’s a strong woman, and she has a wicked sense of humor. Sometimes she’s shocking. And Ciara was very bubbly and very friendly. Coz when I was at the audition, a lot of the girls were very competitive, they’d be giving you dirty looks, Ciara just turned around and like, “Hey! Do you want some water? Have some of mine!” She’s really friendly. But she made me very nervous, because she sang before me… so…

Ca: And Kelly, I knew I would get on with Kelly from the start, because when she came to our house, she’s really kinda… and just laid back, and she’s been there, have been friends…

K: I turned up at their house and just started raiding their fridge! (LOL)

C: She just made herself a home, and she was just that kind of person who’s easy to get on with.

Alyson: That’s quite a good start… any fights?

C: Nah… we’re kinda boring like that… (giggles)

K: You know we’ve been living together for 5 years, it’s good that we haven’t killed each other yet… if we ever have an argument, it’s over small things…

C: It’s like, “where’s my eye shadow? Don’t take my hair brush. Give me back my top…”

Ca: “You got to sit at the front seat yesterday, it’s my turn!”

Alyson: After all those girls-talk, let’s go back to your album. Favorite song on the album?

K: One of my favorites is probably ‘Can’t Cry Hard Enough’, it’s a ballad on the album. And at the time we were recording it, we just lost a very close friend of ours, in a road accident. So I think it was probably one of the hardest songs to record in studio, but it means the most to us on the album.

C: And it brings back a lot of memories, and good memories as well. But it’s about someone who’s far away, but you can’t cry hard enough for them to hear you anymore. So everytime we sing it, it’s like we’re still flying the flight for our friend.

Alyson: Last but not least, plans coming up?

K: We have to release the album back at home first, before we can do any touring. But we definitely hope to get on the road very soon with the band, and to perform with the band live. We’ve done acoustic sets and we’ve performed with backing tracks… but it’s a completely different feeling to have a full band behind you. You can give it more! And rock out more!

All: Yeah!

K: It will bring our personalities out a lot more on stage.

C: If I just mention our website, if anyone wants to log on, leave a message for us… it’s www.bellefiremusic.com

Ca: And we always write back to whoever logs on.

Alyson: Alright, so everyone, go check it out. Thank you so much for joining. Now ENJOY YOUR SHOPPING!

All: Woooooohooooooo!
