 Q1: Your currently on tour around Asia and Australia. Is there a specific reason for this such as a new album release for example?
I’m not touring for any specific reason other than to do my first ever tour of China which is long overdue. I’ve just been so busy with other things. So glad I’m finally gonna get out there now. I actually have 2 albums coming soon, in May 07 I release my first big album since the Euphoria series.
Its gonna be called “Nocturnal “ after my radio show. Then I’ll release my artist album in Sept 07 which is a true artist album of songs with heavy influence from the many different genres of rock music. Q2: You have been running your regular radio show nocturnal. How has this supported your career and developed your name worldwide? Yeh I suppose it has. I t started as an internet show back in april 06 and now it goes out weekly to over 70 FM stations in many countries. I wanted to do a show because there was no one playing all the great music I was hearing from across the many genres of dance music. I love breaks, electro, progressive , trance, house and so much more. Someone needed to bring it all together and expose the best of what Dance has to offer so I thought I’d take up the challenge. We also bring in some of the worlds best DJs each week to play a guest set. I never really expected it to be a commercial success as it was more of a personal thing. I have a good fan base in the UK cause I sold over 2 mil records here….but outside of the UK I meet fans of the music everywhere I go…….hot spots are places like the west coast of America in Hollywood. Q4: If you were to name a particular country which will be the new hot favourite place to go for dance music where do you think it would be and why? Funnily enough, from what I hear china could be that country. I have to see it with my own eyes . Also E Europe is growing on the club scene and I have a lot of touring planned there also. Q5: Electro over the last year seems to be influencing almost every DJ including house, trance and techno producers and DJs. Have you found that your music and sets have been influenced by electro each time you play (besides your recent show joined with Benny Bennassi). Oh yeh, definitely. As a DJ I play whatever I think is the freshest sound of the moment and electro has been playing a big role in my sets over the last year. Q6: Especially in China, promoters and sponsors use the DJ Magazine top 100 as what to go on for booking DJs, what do you think about the poll and its real value? Well, I would never take any one poll literally……Its an indication, but to be taken with a pinch of salt for sure. Q7: Any special plans for 2007, such as events or other activities? Well I’m going to be touring a hell of a lot this year, im pretty hooked on globe trotting at the moment and meeting the party people of the world. Theres a lof of great festivals & Clubs around the world where I’ll be playing. I’m also working on the artist album I mentioned which is a real challenge to come up with an album of great songs and a sound that’s fresh. I would like to get my radio show out on the airwaves of Asia this year. Interview by Nick W.
