ImageJam 2008 is Hong Kong’s very own International Music and Dance Festival.  JAM 2008 is a blend of two artistic disciplines and plays host to the YRock POP music and dance awards.  The aim of the festival is to highlight overseas artists in Hong Kong and showcase Asia Pacific’s home grown and emerging talent to the International markets. JAM seeks to encourage the development of high quality and original artists in music and dance through providing JAM as a platform for undiscovered talent.

This year Jam returns with an even bigger line-up with Multi-Platinum Selling Artist Simon Webbe headlining the all day event.  In 2005 Simon Webbe was one of the members of UK's biggest boybands 'Blue' selling over 9 Million Albums worldwide. Following the success of Blue, Simon Webbe pursued his solo career by releasing his first album, ‘Sanctuary’ which went on to sell over 1 million copies worldwide and included 2 UK Top 5 singles, making it one of the most successful albums of the year.

Youth rock band Vinyl will also be flying over for the event direct from Glasgow, Scotland to take part in this years YRock POP music and dance awards, which will take place during the Festival. The band are now seen as one of the best young talents in Scotland as finalists in the YRock Battle Of The Bands.

The Podium Level, Cyberport offers the perfect environment to throw down a picnic blanket, kick back on the lawn and enjoy a beverage or two whilst the kids clown around with street entertainment, basketball and bouncy slides.

Expect a full day of entertainment with the grand finale of Simon Webbe singing his biggest hits!

About Jam
JAM Vision

The JAM International Music and Dance Festival is a blend of two artistic disciplines, generations of talent and host to the YRock POP music and dance awards. The aim of the festival is to highlight overseas artists in Hong Kong and showcase Asia Pacific’s home grown and emerging talent to the International markets. JAM seeks to encourage the development of high quality and original artists in music and dance through providing JAM as a platform for undiscovered talent.

With the vision to grow into a two or even three-day festival we have engaged the services of Ecovision to green the event and minimize the impact on our environment.

“A great benefit for JAM artists is to share the spotlight with an International act and/or performer, but there is no greater reward than performing in front of your home crowd and being appreciated for it. Other International events have proven Hong Kong to be a popular host, we trust the same attitude will build up this festival to be a multi-cultural attraction for Hong Kong” – JAM Organisers Ricky Spinn/Belinda Howard

YRock POP

The YRock POP Awards are a highlight of the YRock teenage talent development cycle and a celebration of a year's hard work and effort. Teenage musicians and dancers from Hong Kong and Asia Pacific are welcome to sign-up and audition for the JAM Music and Dance festival. The final ten musicians and dancers have the opportunity to perform live on the International JAM stage and are judged at the event with the chosen few groups or individuals rewarded separately for Personality, Originality and Performance.

The YRock teenage talent development platform www.yrock.com.hk provides students from all backgrounds and musical influences with unique opportunities to create music, digital media, dance and perform on a regular basis. YRock promotes the international music scene in Hong Kong and across the Asia pacific region by putting in place the stepping-stones and events to progress and develop towards industry standard.

JAM Makers
