Presented by DigtalRev, and inspired by the pitfalls of community theatre productions, These Actors of Mine is a theatrical disaster that’s just too hilarious to miss! In this play within a play we follow the trials and tribulations of a group of misfit actors attempting to stage Shakespeare’s classic story of Romeo and Juliet on a budget. As events unfurl, Jacquie the director discovers just how badly things can go wrong. Pat the sound and lighting gal keeps missing cues, Mercutio can’t stay sober and Lady Capulet is very much pregnant. Things couldn’t get any worse until Tybalt has a nervous breakdown and has to be replaced with Fred the Janitor. The play culminates with a slew of disastrous performances, lethal poultry and a kiss. Just another day in theatre, really! Written by experienced playwrights Greg Elsasser and Jacquie Emerson, the play will be presented at the Fringe Club from 10 – 12 July 2008. Originally performed abroad to rave reviews, this is the first Asian debut of this unique comedy. In the true spirit of community theatre, the cast is a talented group of international actors supported by artistic and creative people from around Hong Kong. These Actors of Mine is a family friendly comedy for people of all ages. Anyone who’s looking for a night of fun, laughs and solid enjoyment will thoroughly enjoy the show!
