The Hong Kong music scene reverberated recently with the news that the notorious GUITARS AND PANTIES are reforming for a reunion gig.
At the moment just one gig is planned, but the girls do not rule out a full Asian tour if all goes well.
Guitars & Panties shocked conservative gig-goers in 2005 with their pop-rock smashes, and their outrageous panties. For the record, please note the girls and their preferred pantie colour; Chris B - black Yan - green Shirley - red Renee – pink During one particularly sexy show in 2005, the police were called due to the total absence of panties, both on stage and in the audience. "That was a good night" sniggered Chris B, band founder. "I started off with my traditional black lace panties, but after the first song they mysteriously disappeared". Shirley, red lipstick/red panties, is perhaps more well-known for her spectacular chest than her nether regions. She is looking forward to the reunion. "I haven't seen the girls for a while since the split. It wasn't so much musical differences, more pantie difference – Yan wanted to wear my red ones!" Yan (guitar) denies this – " I would never wear her panties, only very tight green panties for me, like this". Yan lifted up her skirt to show off her frankly indecent underwear and I nearly fainted. Renee (drums) is more modest. "Frankly I see no reason to show off my panties to anyone except my boyfriend. My private parts are exactly that – private." So you say Renee.… There you have it. I am now officially excited. Guitars and Panties reunion gig at Underground 69 on Friday 17th October. You would have to be insane to miss it. William Sickey Underground 69 Friday 17th October 2008
