The latest Café De Paris, the third restaurant in just one year since the original Soho eatery opened at Soho Central, opens in Stanley this month. Located on the second floor of a building which also houses Igor’s Group’s new pub Pickled Pelican, the brand new Café de Paris brings a different, elegant touch. Overlooking a glorious sea view of Stanley, the restaurant is furnished in a white and red colour scheme where intricate Victorian-style fleur-de-lis-patterned wallpaper is juxtaposed with red velvet upholstery and black wrought iron railings and ornate lighting. The black and white checkered floor tiling, a feature of all Café de Paris restaurants, is also part of the décor. A row of small cozy tables lined the window-front, while two rows of booth seating add an air of intimacy in dining. Black Angus rib eye steak with Café de Paris butter, Mussels in white wine parsley butter sauce and home-made fries are restaurant’s specialties. New dishes to Café de Paris Stanley includes Provençale vegetables pavé with goat cheese, spiced tomato dressing and basil puree and Scallop and cauliflower risotto with parmesan cream, while many old favourites are treated to new accompanying ingredients and sauces, such as Pan-fried foie gras with apple compote, pickled cherry on hazelnut bread, Roasted lamb rump with rosemary gremolata on honey-glazed pumpkin and Roasted duck breast with potato mousseline, braised yam and cherries in balsamic sauce.
