Chef Khai Duong of Ana Mandara San Francisco at Indochine 1929 To celebrate the 15th year of Indochine 1929 in Lan Kwai Fong, a very special guest chef will visit for 1 week only. Chef Khai Duong of renowned contemporary Vietnamese restaurant Ana Mandara in San Francisco presents a unique menu of his signature creations. Taking authentic Vietnamese dishes and applying classic French techniques, Chef Khai (as he likes to be known) is a pioneer of the cuisine style ingrained in Indochine 1929’s foundation. Widely regarded as one of the world’s leading Asian Chefs, Chef Khai received the 2007 California Culinary Academy Educational Foundation’s Chef Star of Fame award and has been featured in countless F&B and lifestyle publications around the world including Gourmet Magazine, Bon Appetit, InStyle Magazine and The San Francisco Chronicle. Graduating first in his class at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu Academie Culinaire de Paris, Chef Khai has dazzled diners at Le Bernardin (New York), Boca Raton Resort Hotel (Mobil 5 star/5 diamond) and Le Colonial in Beverly Hills. Jointly owned with actors Don Johnson and Cheech Marin, Chef Khai’s Ana Mandara brings traditional recipes and inspiration from his native village of Nha Trang to a whole new level with his inimitable style. Diners in Hong Kong will have the unique opportunity to sample Chef Khai’s creations from October 11 to 16. Starting with an anniversary cocktail party hosted by Chef Khai on Thursday 11th (invitation only), his menu will be available at lunch and dinner with an extra special wine dinner on Friday 12th featuring multiple courses paired with fine wines. Chef Khai will also hold a cooking class on Monday 15th where he will demonstrate a selection of his favourite dishes and teach some simple preparations for home use (class includes dinner).
