Thursday, 18 October 2007
Maintaining its position at the cutting edge of Italian cooking in Hong Kong, one of Central’s foremost al fresco dining venues Gaia, will early next month play host to one of Italy’s top chefs - Chef Stefano Baiocco, from the multi-award winning 'Grand Hotel a Villa Feltrinelli' in Lake Garda, Northern Italy.
A protégé of some of Europe's finest chefs, including Alain Ducasse and Raymond Blanc as well as Spain's Ferran Adria of the famed 'El Bulli', Baiocco is renowned for his inspired menus that feature the rich and abundant game and produce for which the lakes and mountains of Northern Italy are well known.
At Gaia, from November 1st to 8th, Chef Baiocco will prepare some of his most popular dishes from Villa Feltrinelli available either as a nightly five-course set dinner menu for HK$728 (+10% pp) or a la carte including slow roasted lamb, tender venison loin, roasted langoustines and braised swordfish. Chef Baiocco will also be on hand to provide his own personal recommendation for wines to accompany each dish.
On Saturday, November 3rd, Gaia's special guest chef will also host a private cooking class at the restaurant. Participants will first learn the secret behind the preparation of two great dishes plus a luscious dessert in a hands on demonstration by Chef Baiocco before sitting down to enjoy lunch together. Inclusive of lunch plus a glass of wine, this special opportunity to learn from the best costs just HK$450 (+10% pp).
Reservations for both Chef Baiocco’s cookery class and nightly dinner menu are highly recommended. For bookings or enquiries, please call Gaia on 2167-8200 or email:
