Complimentary Chilli Dessert Platter for Diners ordering from the original menu throughout September & October

Shui Hu Ju, the longest established restaurant in the aqua restaurant group, is celebrating its seventh birthday this September with a bespoke à la carte “Retrospective Menu” showcasing the “best of” signature dishes from the last seven years, available throughout September and October only.

For each table that orders a dish from the Retrospective Menu, Shui Hu Ju will offer a complimentary Chilli Ice Cream Dessert Platter.

Shui Hu Ju has chosen to bring back its classic appetiser  favourites: Fresh Jelly-fish served in padi chili, garlic and coriander, Eggplant served with garlic and soy sauce, paper thin fresh Bean curd sheet wrapped with mixed vegetable and topped with spicy peanut sauce, and julienne of potato marinated with anise oil.

Wok-fried river prawns with silky egg white, Pan-fried goose liver with garlic and shallot sauce, Deep fried frog legs with Szechuan chili and Beef brisket braised in a hotpot with chili and frozen tofu will also make an appearance on the main course menu for this limited period only.

Tucked away on Peel Street, SoHo, identifiable only by its heavy wooden antique doors, Shui Hu Ju exemplifies the essence of cutting edge northern-style Chinese cuisine – even world renowned 4 star New York chef Jean George Vongerichten named it his favourite Chinese restaurant in Hong Kong.  Named after a mystical mountain in an old Chinese fable, it serves rustic style dishes full of flavour and spice - light on oil and free of msg.

The flavours found in Shui Hu Ju’s dishes encompass the wonderful recipes and taste sensations from the Sichuan and North East China region.  Guests will be completely transported back in time with its traditional décor, antique furniture, woodcarvings, artefacts, and lanterns, soaking themselves in the sights, smells, tastes and sounds of the original Shui Hu Ju fable itself.

Rooms are available for private group bookings allowing guests to enjoy the exclusive service and sensual traditional Chinese surroundings for their business or social celebrations. Menus can be tailor made, incorporating the celebrations dishes on offer through September and October.

For further information or to make a booking during the birthday period at one of Hong Kong’s best kept secrets please call (852) 2869 6927 or visit Shui Hu Ju at G/F, 68 Peel Street, Soho, Central, Hong Kong.

About aqua restaurant group:

The aqua restaurant group is easily one of Hong Kong’s sleekest and most innovative restaurant groups.

The group now boasts nine outlets including aqua (spirit / tokyo / roma), aqua luna, Hutong, WaterMargin, WasabiSabi, Ayuthaiya, and most recent openings Tivo and Yun Fu on Wyndham Street, Central.

Since their beginnings in 2000, the aqua restaurant group has conceptualised and developed their cuisine and design ideas to present a collection of Asian and Western restaurants that each embrace the heritage of their culture but present food that is both historically inspired and avant-garde both in technique and in presentation.

Many of the group’s restaurants have won praise from around the world, scooping international accolades from top publications, with two out of their nine restaurants having been included in Conde Nast Traveler (US)’s “100 hottest tables in the World”.
