Traveling to Quebec City seems to be the thing to do for Montrealers looking to save a few bucks on top-notch concerts.  The same show was broadcast in Montreal as a highlight for the MEG Montreal festival on the Friday night for $25, and then Saturday in Quebec City for a measly $12, not to mention the half price drinks for sale!  The club itself, L’imperial left a little to be desired with its carpeted floors and DJ decks set up about a mile away from the dance floor.  It was a little bit like viewing the dangerous animals in the zoo, where the voyeurs are caged away from the demonstrations.   The sound system left a little bit to be desired, too much thump and not enough of the higher frequency smack, and why the VJ thought it was acceptable VJing to simply stream together various clips of the flyer is beyond me.
However, if you were able to overlook these cited problems (by maybe closing your eyes and standing in the corner) you may have been impressed by the show because the music was nothing short of fabulous, with both Ada and Metope performing an absolutely awesome array of live minimalistic beats and Superpitcher laying done a tremendous techno set.
