Australian Party Monster Teen Branded a ‘Genius’ 16 year old house party promoter turned global internet celebrity Corey Delaney was on course to make tens of thousands of dollars this week after he humiliated top Australian journalists who tried to ridicule him on TV. The Melbourne teenager used Myspace to attract 500 revellers who promptly trashed the upmarket neighbourhood when 30 cops turned up with a dog squad and police helicopter in tow to crush his lively house party. Speaking after the event on Australian news show “A Current Affair’ the photogenic blonde teen wore new rave style yellow sunglasses and smiled when host Leila McKinnon ordered him to ‘take off those glasses and apologise to everyone you've frightened’ in a brilliantly miscalculated move to tell him off. “Take off your glasses and apologise to us," she demanded, “ “I’ll say sorry but I’m not taking off my glasses,” Corey chuckled. “Why not?” she demanded. “Because . . They’re famous”, he replied, LM: (Slowly)“Because your glasses are famous . . ?” CD: “Yeah”. LM: “Why are you glasses famous?” CD: “Everyone likes them, so, I’m not taking them off.” LM: You’re pretty happy with the look and the attitude you’ve got, are you?” CD: “Yeah, my parents aren’t, but I am.” Corey’s masterstroke, however, came at the end of the 3 minute interview as McKinnon demanded "What would you say to other kids who are thinking of partying while their parents are out of town?" "Get me to do it for you," he replied, “Best party ever.” Asked by another TV channel how the party started he laughed ‘I can’t remember, I was off my head,” prompting Daily Telegraph columnist Andrew Ramadge to dub him a ‘genius’. “Corey Delaney's talent for showing up interviewers trying to trade on his vilification, while still looking like an extra from Clueless, has made him a pin-up for a generation of young Australians suspicious of the media and clued-in to the ways of modern marketing,” he enthused. “In the past week, this seemingly brain-dead 16-year-old has left seasoned media personalities looking like bigger twits than himself by refusing to flinch during on-screen interrogations and out-manoeuvring the questions of interviewers.” Melbourne police later fined Corey £9,000 for damage caused by his bash though press reports predicted he’s on course to make thousands from deals with lifestyle magazines and nightclubs. "He's got character," club promoter Raed Melk from House Of Pain told the Telegraph, "Quite a few clubs would be interested in having him because he got 500 people all the way out there." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2EDtxEumFI (Corey humiliates Leila McKinnon: brilliant!) http://www.bustedtees.com/shirt/sunglasses/male (Corey T shirts: ‘I’ll say sorry but I’m not taking off my sunglasses’ T shirts; Aus$14.99) http://www.slapcorey.com Article by Jonty Skrufff Subscribe to Skrufff music newsletter at www.Skrufff.com
