Clubbing Promotion in HK vs UK |

After just visiting the UK I found that there is such a big difference in event promotion. Basically in the UK promoters seem to get the information out as much as possible directly to their target market where in Hong Kong some promoters do not even tell anyone except for their friends! Funny as it may seem this is often the case and as most of you know HKClubbing spends every waking moment digging for any shread of event information from promoters that is out there.
Just this week we received over 10 event details 4 days before the events were going to take place. I am not sure if all of them were last minute confirmations but this seems to happen all the time. Other press and publications we work with also have the same problem where reminding promoters often happens. If you are a promoter and don't believe in the net, our information is read by about 3,000 people a day, so I think that is worth an email!
The conclusion to this rant is basically HK has loads of potential, so we all need to take advantage of it! Get us the information as soon as you can, as much as you can, and those who are not promoters you have a job too! Let them know what you think in the forums and what you really want to see each week in the Entertainment circuit of the SAR. |
