Dancing DJs’ Confessions On the Dance-floor Ed Simons from the Chemical Brothers revealed he still enjoys going out dancing this week, and insisted he’s not self-conscious at all about fellow clubbers watching him. “Our message board is awash with comments on my dancing but it doesn’t really bother me,” Ed told the Daily Mirror, “Friends say I look like Forrest Gump teaching Elvis how to dance.” Judge Jules was equally happy to discuss his dancing techniques and also revealed a similarly self-deprecating streak. “I guess as a DJ, spending your life behind the decks, you end up being a good dancer with the top half of your body and totally incapable with the bottom,” Jules mused, “So I'm good behind the decks and crap on the dance floor,” he told Skrufff. Drum & bass/ electro star John B was considerably more confident, revealing he hits ther dance floor whenever he gets the chance. “I usually dance if I go out on a townie night out in Maidenhead if I have a weekend night off - or the local dive club 'Smoky Joe's Roadhouse' (look it up online for a laugh),” he suggested. “The last time was Friday night - I'd cancelled a dodgy Rusky (Russia) gig. I got the DJ to play 'What is Love' by Haddaway,” he recalled. “I tend to do dodgy 80s dances, but my best move is the robot,” John added, “It’s where your arm goes limp then you spin it round, hit your bum and then swivvel your hips . . . genius.” “My friend Dana taught me the moves, it’s great because you can teach girls how to do it then have a Robot-Off in the middle of the dance-floor,” he chuckled. The make-up wearing metrosexual star also had a pop at stationery rival DJs, adding ‘I think its important to move about a bit when you're DJing.’ “I always try to be as animated as possible - though obviously you don’t want to spak out too much. i never understand the guys that just stand there looking mean - which seems to be the drum & bass way of doing things in general,” he added.
