DJ/producer Fedde le Grand pocketed another prestigious award last Thursday night 27th September. Fedde won in the category ‘Breakthrough’ at the DJ Awards in Ibiza. He defeated other nominees like Richard Grey, 2ManyDJs, Mark Night and Tiefschwarz.
This night filling award show held in Pacha was a true family reunion of international DJs. Fedde le Grand - who performed in Space in Ibiza last Tuesday - managed to squeeze a spot in his overfull agenda to stay a bit longer on this island so he could receive this award in person. No jury but internet and text messages voters from all over the world determined the winners. Other DJ awards were presented in the categories: House, Techno, Trance, Tech-House/Progressive, Electro, Newcomer, Urban DJ, Ibiza DJ, Ibiza Bar and International Festival. This year was the 10th DJ Awards edition. This event is one of the most long-term award shows concerning dance industry worldwide. This show is considered as a tribute to the DJs who influenced the dance music globally. For the last 9 years this show has grown into one of Ibiza’s most important international event. Fedde le Grand has another spectacular gig coming up on this Spanish island. He will perform together with among others Danny Tenaglia at the closing party in the hot-spot Space on 7th October. During the Amsterdam Dance Event in his own country, Le Grand will spin at the MN2S event in BG (Post CS building) and at his own Flamingo Nights in the Melkweg on Friday 19th October. Being the joint owner of Flamingo Recordings, they have established Flamingo Nights, the new party concept of this record label. On Saturday 20th October you can find Fedde at Sneakerz in the Panama in Amsterdam (1Management Label Night, ADE edition). The night after that on Sunday 21st, Fedde will perform in Panama again but this time during the Super Sunday ADE Closing Party. Everything is going smooth with the producer Fedde le Grand as well. His remix of Ida Corr’s ‘Let me think about it’ has become an international floor filler. The tune entered the official UK singles chart at no. 5. this week and it looks like it is becoming even bigger than the well-known ‘Put your hands up for Detroit’. On Sunday 23rd Fedde took care of the Essential Mix in Pete Tong’s very popular BBC Radio 1 programme. In the meantime Fedde works hard on his first Artist Album which will be in store the beginning of next year. For more information please go to www.feddelegrand.com.
