Ibiza Rocks Rock and Roll Hotel Mamumission are to open an Ibiza Rocks themed hotel in Ibiza in May featuring resident rock bands who’ll perform every night and mingle with fans, they announced this week. The San Antonio residence was dubbed 'the first 24-hour rock 'n' roll hotel’ though Dawn Manumission stressed they’ll be conscious of the island’s increasingly strict 6am party curfew. “We’re not looking to be an after hours location. The hotel will have a 24hour bar but is an operational hotel so won't be blasting out music at 7am,” she promised, “The outdoor live elements will be over by 11pm when the action will move indoors to the back stage bar. Throughout the summer acoustic sets will happen around the pool and full live bands will be appearing in our indoor live music venue,” she said. Dawn stressed the new venture will be unlike their notorious Manumission Motel which she admitted went wrong due to ‘excesses to the extreme in every capacity; never to be repeated’ “The Ibiza Rocks hotel is creating a giant buzz now, it’s contemporary, original and not a copy of the motel before it. It’s for the scene that's happening now,” said Dawn. Hotel residents will have priority access to shows over non residents with all visitors being required to sign up for an Ibiza rocks hotel membership at reception, she continued, with various exclusive events and spaces built into the overall theme, “We have a 4 bedroom penthouse suite with hot tub on the terrace for the bands to stay in so I'm sure the quest for many this summer will be how to work your way up to the top floor and join the bands in their Jacuzzi,” said Dawn. “We are also building rehearsal rooms and future plans include a recording studio. Which means that it's a working music environment as well as having a beach area, chill out pool and the access to all the hotel facilities including gym, bars, and restaurant,” she added. Residents staying by the pool will also be safe from the millions of jellyfish which scientists warned this week are massing in deeper waters off the Costa Brava. Media reports described densely packed colonies with up to ten 'mauve stinger' jellyfish per cubic meter heading for Spanish beaches, threatening agony for swimmers encountering their stings. In more jellyfish news, Maldives fisherman revealed they’d discovered the carcass of a giant jellyfish on the deserted island of Haa Daal Kanamana this week measuring over 30 feer in size (10 metres). The monster stinger was the second such beast found in 3 months, the Maldives news reported. http://www.ibizarocks.com Article by Jonty Skrufff
