Diesel is proud to launch Chapter Two of Issue Four of its seasonal ’zine, “BRAVE.” Following the successful launch of Chapter One in October with a Wing Shya photography exhibition and AliveNotDead.com music showcase, the second instalment feature internationally renowned artists from New York: Suitman, José Parlá, Rostarr and Deanne Cheuk.

Inspired by a sense of adventure and journey, the quartet will embark on a 10-day trip in China called “The New Grand Tour.” Taking off from Shanghai, they will head to Yunnan Province, where they will visit Kunming, Lijiang, Shangri-La county and the Mei Li Snow Mountains. Searching for new experiences and cultural exchanges, highlights of the tour include: meeting the Chief Lama of the Eastern Bamboo Forest monastery, who is campaigning to preserve the traditional Tibetan art of Tong Ka; art-exchange sessions with local Chinese artists; as well as visiting school children in rural towns.

“The New Grand Tour” will end in Hong Kong with an exhibition that launches on November 2 (Opening Event). The four artists will share their experiences from the China trip with an exhibition of art, sketches and photography. Also on show will be their renowned personal art pieces, exhibited and for sale in Hong Kong for the first time. The talented foursome will return to China in May 2008 for a full exhibition of “The New Grand Tour” in Beijing.

Inspired by three words, “Only The Brave” — the Diesel corporate identity — “BRAVE” is a seasonal ’zine that’s different in attitude, content and creativity. With past issues in print form using rotating guest art directors, “BRAVE” has now evolved into a real live, physical experience. With an overriding theme of “Alive,” Issue Four is a three-part interactive journey through art, music and fashion, running from October to December 2007.
