Philia presents - Consanguinity -- Art Exhibition by Rachel Smith

People are seldom straight forward or understandable. Relationships with others tend to weave and dodge around your consciousness. But if you squint your eyes open you can often catch a glimpse of them on the edge of your vision. This series is my impressions of people who have entered my field of vision and the range of my palette knife.
About Rachel Smith
Vivid, primary colors and explosive energy characterize Canadian-born Rachel Smith’s unconventional paintings. Having made Hong Kong her home, Rachel’s passion is to capture the fleeting majesty found within in the everyday bustle of the city, to offer subtle, disarming glimpses of local scenes depicted through moments of surreal innocence. She has a fondness for beauty in nature, humanity and architecture. Rachel is an avid reader who collects spontaneous acts of kindness.
