Robot Sex & Love Shocker

Artificial intelligence expert David Levy from the University of Maastricht suggested that humans will be marrying robots within 50 years, this week, as he published his thesis on ‘Intimate Relationships with Artificial Partners’.

Mr Levy pointed out that interracial and same sex marriages were taboo until relatively recently and said advances in technology mean the key reasons why humans fall in love (such as common interests and knowing the other person likes them) are easily programmable, as robots become ever more human-like in appearance.

"It may sound a little weird, but it isn't; love and sex with robots are inevitable,” Mr Levy told Livescience.com, (particularly for) ‘people who find it hard to form relationships, because they are extremely shy, or have psychological problems, or are just plain ugly or have unpleasant personalities," he said.

A publicist for San Diego sex doll manufacturers RealDoll identified more potential robot lovers in June, when she gave an interview to local newspaper San Diego City Beat, in June. Ms Shelly Couture said ‘vertically challenged 35- to 65-year-old men with disposable incomes’ make up one of the biggest customers groups for their $6,499 dolls, with women also buying them for their husbands and boyfriends.

“One woman came to us with her tax return and, knowing that she was going to be away for a long time, bought one for her husband so he wouldn’t be fooling around on her,” she said.

Most couples aren't aware of their fit until something happens to change it. We all grow and mature, our needs change and our relationships need to adapt to those changes . . ‘)
