Arun has only been on the DJ circuit for a bit less than 2 years now. His style has developed into what has become a fresh sound for House music that is currently highly sought after by clubs and venues in Hong Kong. The niche factor is his varied and unique taste of music that influences his live sets – he is able to take a crowd through a journey of afro/latin-funk rhythms up to a peak of eclectic and melodic progressions, accompanied by jackin’ beats and basslines. 2007 turned out to be very fulfilling: alongside his day job as Events Manager for Entertaining Asia Ltd, he performed at several Hed Kandi and Ministry of Sound events, and closed the year with 3 weekly and 2 monthly residencies. An invitation to play at Elevate (India – Voted 35th Best Club in the World by DJ Mag) got him in the mood to travel and started played regularly in China (Jinan, Zhongshan and Guangzhou). He has graced the decks for prestigious events like Hed Kandi, Ministry of Sound Sessions, and Renaissance Digital Asia Tour and Funky 4 Love, and has the opportunity to play alongside international DJs such as Paulo Mojo, Alex Botar (Diva La Disco), Andy Warburton, Luke Neville, Dennis Christopher (Beatfreakz), Dylan Barnes (Mutiny), Andy Norman, Patrick Hagenaar, and the world famous Tiesto. Arun has earned appraisal from some of the above names as ‘the perfect warm-up DJ’. He has been invited to play at most key venues in the city, including internationally renowned M1NT, HK’s biggest club - Beijing Club, Drop, Solas, Volar, and the trendy Evisu Baru. 2008 promises to be even busier in Hong Kong – with several major events lined up for the year and new residencies both in the city and overseas. Current and Recent Residencies in Hong Kong: FINDS, Aqua Spirit, Cliq, Tribeca (Front Room), Beijing Club Overseas: The Cellar (GZ, China) Website: www.arun-r.com Myspace: www.myspace.com/arunr Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/DJ-Arun-R/8517117746 Taipan Dan Dan is a house DJ by pure passion. His style has been heavily influenced by the US New York scene, where he mixes up filtered disco samples (and re-edited originals) with soulful house and a lot funky breaks. His biggest inspiration is Kenny Dope Gonzales, and others include Louie Vega, (Masters At Work), Kerri Chandler, Dimitri from Paris, Joey Negro, DJ Spen, Karizma & Armand Van Helden. Despite his young age, Dan holds a great track record of clubs that include the top end of the club guide in London: Fabric, Pacha, The Cross, The End, Lime Light, The Rocket Complex, Nylon and Sugar Reef. Besides working with the biggest nightclubs, he also keeps his hands and ears busy with corporate clients, catering to them in high society venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Society of Arts, Grosvenor House and Noble Rot. When off the decks, he’s in the studio busy with all sorts off work. The back-end work of the music industry has paid off for him after working with DJs and Producers including Pete Tong, Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim), Seb Fontaine, Trevor Nelson, Gilles Peterson, and the Chemical Brothers. Outisde of the UK he has made solid coverage of Hong Kong, Sydney and even made an appearance at Euro Disney in Paris. Now based in Hong Kong, Tai Pan Dan is set to push out the funkier sounds of house music at prominent venues, starting with a new mid-week residency with fellow DJ Arun R at Aqua Spirit – one of the world’s most exclusive lounges. Dan’s musical versatility allows him to cater to clients who require any of the following genres of music: Rare Disco 80’s Soul Rare Groove Northern Soul Lounge 60’s Soul Funk Hip Hop Jazz/Jazz Funk Adrian Amirail Adrian Armirail (formerly know as DJ B-Kube) has started his career as a DJ in 2000 when he joined the UK Garage & 2 Step Collective “Sweet & Sexy”. A great vibe was created and Adrian joined the crew to tour around Switzerland’s finest venues for 2 years. Due to a drastic international disappearing of the UK Garage vibe Adrian was reconsidering the music in his plays and started to mix Funky House alongside UK Garage & 2 Step Classics. For the following two years he was mainly playing in his home town, the Swiss capital Berne and in the summer seasons he was booked to some of Switzerland’s biggest Open Air festivals and parades (Gurten Festival, Street Parade, etc.). He started organizing Events with bookings of international DJs and fashion designers and made a breakthrough with a big fashion show with after party called “Fashion Flavour” at the Kornhauskeller Berne, Switzerland. In 2004 he was booked to play in Johannesburg and Pretoria, South Africa to play with Rudeboy Paul, DJ Monde and 2 Lani the Warrior. In 2005 Adrian moved to Hamburg, Germany for a year. He played at the legendary cocktail lounge ZWO11 as a resident every weekend. After having experienced the amazing crowds of the 2006 FIFA Football World Championship Adrian moved back to Switzerland to start his studies in International Management. In summer 2007 Adrian headed to Nicosia, Cyprus to enjoy his first of two exchange semesters. He played at the luxurious Toy Bar & Lounge along with Andy Pervinca. Adrian was also booked at other venues around Cyprus (Greek & Turkish side) to play along with the tag-team Aki-Tek. After a big New Years Eve Bash in Switzerland, Adrian is now temporarily living in Hong Kong.
Music has been the biggest passion in Adrian Armirail’s life and has always felt the need to share that passion with other people. Spinning Vinyl and CDs Adrian has been playing at all different kind of events and venues. Bookings around Switzerland, Germany, South Africa, Spain and Cyprus have made him experience audiences at fancy chill out lounges, massive commercial clubs and big open air festivals. As a DJ, no one can question Adrian’s versatility; whether he’s creating a night woven with dark and electrifying beats, or charging up the dance floor with soulful vocals backed with pumping grooves, Adrian intuitively works a room with his creative mixing and programming style, playing music for the masses, as well as for the more sophisticated audiences. The styles Adrian plays range from Deep House to Minimal, from UK Garage to Breakbeats and from Soulful Funky House to Electro House, depending on the venue and reaction of the audience during his plays. Adrian is a master of adaptability in electronic lounge and clubbing music.
