International DJ Sarah Love is a music scene veteran not only in the UK but also worldwide. With a seemingly genetic talent for music her skill has been honed and recognized through projects ranging from BBC radio to Glastonbury Festival and live performances in four continents. Originally playing jazz and funk drums from nine years old, Sarah began composing and producing at age 12 and going on to study for a degree in Popular Music and Recording at one of the UK’s most respected music schools. Sarah is a significant team member of London’s “blue chip” legendary hip-hop haven Kung Fu, where she supplies a her own distinct mix of classic soul and rare groove alongside rap old and new. Well established for her innovation in UK music scene, Sarah has worked as an official MTV Soundsystem DJ helping to launch MTV Base Africa and performing live at numerous MTV events throughout Europe. As well as playing alongside British legends of hip hop, Sarah works with American icons KRS One, The Roots, Grandmaster Flash, DJ Cash Money, Guru, Boot Camp Click, Raekwon of Wu-Tang fame and many more. Sarah is equally at home in the club or the radio studio, produces mixtapes and tours worldwide continually. In 2004 Piccadilly Press renowned author Johnny Zuccer published One Girl, Two Decks, Three Degrees Of Love, a children’s book about a young DJ from North London inspired by Sarah. She also co-helmed Medication Records in the same year, a label set up to showcase the cream of British hip-hop music. With a musically inclined family and Anglo-South African roots, music was always in Sarah’s blood and she has also performed as a jazz singer for a number of years. Her present work stands on the shoulders of this legacy of experience and tradition, and has been said to help account for the depth of her musical knowledge and her uncanny skills put to use in her DJ performances.
