The China Stylus street art project – ST/ART – announces its first full group exhibition. The exhibition entitled RE:ST/ART will be held from January 20 to 27, 2006 at China Stylus’ Central based studios.
RE:ST/ART China Stylus- The idea behind the RE:ST/ART exhibition is to welcome the new year with a positive message and some positive action. It’s all about renewing, refreshing and recycling... Its about a new year, new ideas… a new START.
… RE:ST/ART RE:USE RE:FRESH RE:CYCLE … Each piece in the RE:ST/ART collection will be painted on, and created with, only items and “canvases” found discarded on the city’s streets. At a time when, as the Chinese New Year approaches, so much is thrown out, the RE:ST/ART project aims to breathe new life and colour into the unwanted and dismissed.

ST/ART is a loose collective of about 20 of Hong Kong’s most prolific street artists. It is an initiative of Hong Kong graphic design studio China Stylus and is designed to document, foster, educate, encourage and legitimize the growing Street Art culture in Hong Kong & Asia. Through showcase demonstration events, exhibitions, specially commissioned collaborative artwork and documentary media, the ST/ART collective aims to challenge perceptions of traditional “graffiti” and legitimize genuine street art –while at the same time questioning the value of the established commercial ‘art’ scene.
