Chef Kla Steps Up to Head the Culinary Direction at Trisara
One of Phuket’s finest dining experiences
Guests to Trisara can expect even more culinary magic as the exclusive resort announces that Khun Chef Kla will head up its culinary direction.
Chef Khun Kla (Chalermchai Prakobkit) has been with the resort since opening in 2004, but for the last 18 months has been mentored by Neil Perry -- working at his side at both Trisara and Sydney’s renowned Rockpool restaurant to learn many of the skills Neil has become famous for.
From August 2007, Chef Kla will take over from Neil Perry as Trisara’s Executive Chef.
Already known to be one of Thailand’s great culinary resources, Kla’s recent training combined with his commitment to quality produce and clean fresh flavours promises guests an injection of magic to Trisara’s already exquisite menus.
Under Chef Kla’s direction, the menus have already been reinvigorated with a number of new dishes being added to both the lunch and dinner menus. New dishes include Seared Scallops with sweet corn puree and fine herb salad, Lobster tail with spring vegetable salad and ginger dressing.
As Chef Kla steps up at Trisara, Neil Perry will no longer be working as consultant Executive Chef due to his commitments in opening two new restaurants in 2008. All of his wonderful food philosophies will remain – using terrific produce, ensuring that the menu is seafood focused, with lots of wonderful fresh light salads and great flavour combinations.
Chef Kla was born in the Buri Ram Province of Thailand’s North East and grew up with strong food influences around him. Throughout his career as a chef he has spent time specialising in Thai, Italian and international cuisines at a variety of restaurants including the highly regarded Sukothai hotel in Sathon Road, Bangkok.
Guests to Trisara will be able to experience Chef Kla’s cookery on Trisara’s stunning 1,000 sq ft teak deck, or in the air conditioned comfort of the resort’s beautiful seafront bar and restaurant whilst enjoying breathtaking view of the Andaman Sea.
In addition resort guests can enjoy private in-villa BBQs from Chef Kla and freshly prepared picnics at secluded bays as organised by the Trisara team.
