Jerome Sydenham (Ibadan, US) Friday 5 August 2005 at Zouk Following the success of Dennis Ferrer’s set back in July, we present to you the other half of the “Sandcastles” hit making duo – Jerome Sydenham. From his early years in the mid 80s as DJ and promoter in Philadelphia and New York, Jerome went on to hone his talents at A&R for major labels like Atlantic Records and East West, lending his touch to artists like En Vogue, Simply Red and breaking dance acts like Murk and Ten City into the mainstream. By ’95, Jerome started the Ibadan imprint as an outlet for his own creativity. With “Sandcastles” reaching new heights of popularity – Jeff Mills, Joe Claussell and Sasha all showing support, Jerome’s current “Pan-African Electro” fusion of Detroit techno, early Chicago house and afro-rhythms, is certainly reshaping the landscape of dance music.
