Macau’s largest and most cosmopolitan new entertainment venue, Sky21 will open on the top three floors of the AIA Tower on December 16, 2006. Occupying a remarkable 30,000 sq feet, it combines fine Asian and European cuisine; a sensational array of cocktails; and world-class entertainment, which draws upon the talents of entertainers and DJs from some of the world’s coolest nightspots including Amsterdam’s Supperclub and Bangkok’s Bed Supperclub. Unique to Macau, the fabulously spacious indoor – outdoor venue will offer a large restaurant, sushi bar, private rooms, al fresco bar & lounge, plus a nightclub setting featuring international DJs and burlesque-inspired dancers from Amsterdam. Sky21 will occupy the 21st, 22nd and 23rd floors of AIA Tower, in Macau's commercial centre at 215A - 301 Avenida Comercial De Macau. On two floors, a hip bar and restaurant seating 300 will serve Japanese, Italian and Thai cuisine by three acclaimed chefs. At 10pm, the lights will go down and the entire 22nd floor, complete with video graphic wall, will transform from contemporary dining to Macau's first truly international nightclub, open until 4am. Heading the DJ line up is resident Insomnia, who pioneered dance parties in Madeira before returning to his native Macau, and Portugal's DJ Bubble (Hernandez Sousa), who has performed as far a field as Moscow and Brazil. DJ Bubble was also formerly resident DJ for Madeira's biggest club, Vespas. Adding an intriguing and energetic element of risqué entertainment, the FX Dancers from Amsterdam are an international troupe that have occupied some of the world's premier entertainment stages -- performing with such artists as Rod Steward, Run DMC, DJ Tiesto and Latoya Jackson in venue's ranging from MTV and Top of the Charts to Amsterdam’s Supperclub, Roxy, Moulin Rouge and Ministry of Sound. "They dance to everything from hip hop and break dance to street dance, jazz, tap and salsa – extraordinary performers who will capture the imagination of audiences with a new clubbing philosophy," said Sky21's General Manager, Terence Yu. Skilled cocktail "mixologists" are also part of the formula, including three star bartenders, who recently arrived from Bangkok's fashionable Bed Supperclub. Meanwhile, the 23rd floor of Sky21 is completely al fresco, a sublime innovation of renowned Hong Kong based interior designer Danny Cheng, for chilling out under the stars, with live jazz during the 6:00pm to 8:00pm 'happy hour' and even beds for the over-exerted to recover from the dance floor.
