Singapore’s famous restaurant EMBER, which has gained a huge following among connoisseurs of fine food and wine as one of the finest in the country, has now opened its first overseas venture in Bangkok restaurant EMBER Bangkok, now open, is located in a stylishly decorated contemporary three-storey building at Bangkok’s chic Langsuan Balcony dining and entertainment plaza. restaurant EMBER is a joint venture between Singaporean chef Sebastian Ng, Thai partners, and celebrated hotelier Peng Loh, whose boutique hotels 1929, where EMBER Singapore is located and the stylish New Majestic Hotel, are regarded as among the most creative new hotels in Asia. As with restaurant EMBER Singapore, Sebastian Ng’s menus at restaurant EMBER Bangkok focus on contemporary European cuisine with bursts of local flavors and draw heavily on fresh local ingredients. His culinary focus on pasta, game meats and seafood is also continued at restaurant EMBER Bangkok where the kitchens are overseen by 29-year old Muhammad Haikal Johari who previously held positions at some of Singapore’s top restaurants including Les Amis, Pierside and Raffles Hotel. He has also worked on short term assignments alongside top international chefs including Joel Robuchon and Laurent Gras from San Francisco. Must-haves on the menu include Crispy Foie Gras, Pear Chutney Beet-Orange Chilli Reduction, Chilean Seabass, Mushroom and Bacon Ragout with Truffle-Yazu Butter Sauce, and Five Peppered Crusted Australian Lamb Rack, Baby Bak Choy with Port Tamarind Reduction. For dessert that is to die for, there is, among others, Warm Valrhona Chocolate Cake served with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. restaurant EMBER offers a great value set lunch menu priced at just THB 370++ per person for three courses, and which includes a section of six different appetizers and six main courses. To complement the meal, an extensive international wine list is at hand. restaurant EMBER is also ideal for private functions and parties, with private dining areas on the third floor seating up to 20, and even an outdoor terrace for dining al fresco during Bangkok’s balmy evenings.
