You with Sonny: small is the next big
Saturday 12 August 2006 at Phuture, now weekly on Saturdays (except last Saturday of the month) After 2 successful years in Zouk, "You" nights will take a whole new concept and role of pushing musical boundaries & clubbing to a new and fresh perspective. From a monthly affair, "You" will now take place weekly at Phuture on Saturdays. Keeping with the underground movement of dance music, of moving to intimate spaces to pay more attention to the details, "You" will gravitate towards creating an all new feel, one that's vibey and more physical, where less is always more. Expect minimal, electro, minimal techno & the occasional rock influence.
The anchor of "You", Sonny, needs no introduction. Only 3 years into his Zouk residency and still in his 20's, he has already made an impact in the scene, helping push Zouk's music culture & Singapore's dance scene to a higher level of recognition being voted within top 200 in UK's prestigious DJ Mag top 100 poll. With his production front underway, his debut single (with New Zealand producer Team Brooklyn) titled "Day 3", which also features a solo remix and 2nd version by Zimbardo (Distraekt Recs/ IDJ Mag), is due for release on Z Tribe Records (UK) in August.
This along with several other solo singles and remixes, including a remix of Satoshi Tomiie's "Glow" track that is due to be released on SAW Records (NYC) in September. Starting this August, Sonny will now helm his edgy You night in Phuture weekly, every Saturday.
