Singapore's biggest outdoor dance festival to rock the region… AGAIN!

SATURDAY 9 DECEMBER 2006, SILOSO BEACH @ SENTOSA, SINGAPORE
Tourism Awards ‘05 Best Leisure Event Experience Winner!
It slices, it dices and it’ll bring you places you never knew existed. It’s that time of the year again when Singapore turns into South East Asia’s dance Mecca … bringing the quintessential ZOUK experience to the great outdoors and beyond.
The sixth installment of ZoukOut returns stronger than ever, with loyal support from both party aficionados and first timers, local devotees and foreign die-hards. It’s the phenomenon we call ZoukOut and everyone is invited!
“Events such as ZoukOut bolster Singapore’s image as a vibrant and exciting city with a pulsating nightlife, boosting our efforts to become the Entertainment Capital of Asia," said Mr Oliver Chong, Director, Cluster Development (Events & Entertainment), at the Singapore Tourism Board. “Last year, ZoukOut attracted the most number of foreign visitors in its five- year history. More than a third of party-goers were foreigners, many of whom had come to Singapore specially for the event. I’m sure this year's event will be no different."
“Zouk is a world-class, home-grown brand name with strong international appeal and its signature annual ZoukOut event is not to be missed!"
Record breaker
After a record turnout of 18,000 revelers last year, 2006 is gearing up to be an even more massive and sophisticated event with lineup, activities and event organization to match.
Taking place over 12 hours from dusk till dawn (8pm – 8am), with 4 music arenas spanning 56,000 sq ft across the sandy beach, each pumping different dance genres from house, trance, electro, progressive, alternative/ indie, hip hop and of course the ever popular Mambo Jambo; every clubber, including your mama, will be more than appeased.
The Line up!
This year’s lineup is unprecedented in its diversity, including much media-hyped acts that have never before been to the region as well as embracing fresh new sounds in the world of electronica.

Ferry Corsten (Holland), voted amongst the Top 10 DJs of the world, headlines the Main Arena with his track "Daylight" of his current album "L.E.F" selected as the official ZoukOut ‘06 song. Also playing the same arena is Steve Lawler (UK), one of the world’s leading proponents of dance music, along with 3-deck techno wizard Ben Sims (UK), and Dutch rising star Matthew Dekay.
Hip Hop's cream of the crop Jazzy Jeff (US) is back to headline the urban arena, while Ibiza veteran DJ Pippi, and first timers to the region, Belgian Kings of Mash Up -2MANYDJS & their live act Nite Versions, and deep house aficionado Kerri Chandler (US), plus your favorite Zouk residents, all make up part of the blockbuster lineup with more names to be confirmed!
And after the success of the first time Live Stage last year, it returns again featuring some of Singapore’s best bands, like Electrico, Plain Sunset, Astreal & The Great Spy Experiment and to thrill live music fans further, this years billing will include some of the regions best live acts too! Catch Stars Don’t Fall, one of Australia’s most popular pop punk bands and the head- on car crash between Asian and European pop culture that is Bangkok based Futon, as they electrify the stage.
RESFEST The 10th Anniversary Global Tour
Expect the biggest and the best ZoukOut RESMIX screening yet. As part of their anniversary celebration, RESFEST gives you 90-minutes of only the greatest, most seminal short films from the festival’s 10-year history. Twisted new applications of animation in Michael Overbeck’s Tongues and Taxis, a radically new take on documentary in Stefan Nadelman’s Terminal Bar, and the fascinating exploration of painstaking artistic processes in David Ellis’ Letter to the President. These are just a few of the landmark films that reinvented the medium and defined a decade of innovation. From the hand-tooled and the DIY to the brave and the boundary-pushing, the result is an utterly unique timeline of filmic innovation and advancement. Screening 8.30pm to 10pm.
It’s never just about the music …
Everyone who has ever attended ZoukOut knows it’s not only about the best in dance music, it’s about the entire festival experience, immersing you from the moment you enter into a unique entertainment wonderland, for both locals and visitors alike.
From out-of-this world performers and art installations, to free gaming, carnival rides & drumming lessons, from palmistry to foot massage, not to mention inexpensive vendors offering an array of sumptuous foods, you will never have a dull moment!
With full intention of making this the most seamless ZoukOut experience ever, entry & re-entry points into the venue, bar staff & bars plus frequency of ZoukOut shuttle services, have all been increased.
Reveling in Ideology
What makes holding ZoukOut so special year after year, is its ability to truly exemplify Zouk’s 15 year motto of One World One Music One Tribe One Dance.
With 35% of the crowd made up of visitors, it’s an event that breaks down cultural barriers and unites clubbers from all of Asia and the world under one groove.
So neighbours near and far, heed the call of the music and come to ZoukOut!
