Consistently punching above his weight, Alan Braxe has quietly established himself as one of France’s, if not the world’s, top dance producers over his 10 year career and with The Upper Cuts (a compilation of his best collaborations) he delivers a knockout blow.
Peaks moments include various Fred Falke co-productions including Most Wanted and Intro (which originally appeared together on a single 12”) and Morodoresque anthem Palladium as well as the still storming (and remarkably fresh) electro-house workout Rubicon, one of the best club tracks of 2004.
Even more definitive is Music Sounds Better With You, which he recorded with Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter in 1999 under the nom de guerre Stardust. Simple, straightforward and maddeningly catchy, the track remains one of dance culture’s all time anthems
