The ‘Modfather’, Paul Weller is back with fourteen brand new tracks, a year after the release of his near miss covers album, “Studio 150”. As Is Now is a break away from the common belief that Weller had gone soft and reinstates why the voice of legendary punk band The Jam is considered the greatest British songwriter of his generation.
The album is a departure from his most recent acoustic oriented releases instead it offers a distilled combination of Style Council’s R n B Jazz with 1960’s rock and folk. Working with long time collaborators Steve Craddock (guitars), Steve White (drums) and Damon Minchella (bass), the album signifies that the old guns really know how to rock and keep it going. Every track is a mature melee of rock genres and it is apparent the boys had a lot of fun putting it together in a matter of a fortnight.
As Is Now is released globally on October 10th, and a European tour will follow the current rounds being made in the US.
