Eminem’s newest album “Encore” is bound to set some heads rolling. Aside from “Evil Deeds” and perhaps “Curtains Down” this album has absolutely no redeeming value and is most likely simply a grab for money, with all but those aforementioned songs seemingly written and recorded simultaneously. There is little of the characteristically “word wise” Eminem that the world has come the love. He seems to have gotten caught up in his own hype and is possibly running out of things to say.
About two months ago Eminem visited Australia with his band D12 for a number of scheduled concerts. When they arrived, him and his band, were pulled aside by immigration officers and lectured on how to behave in Australia while being told not to “incite” young Australians. When I originally heard this I was upset and confused as to how a “free nation” with “freedom of speech” could actually be making such an outrageous request. Then I listened to “Encore”. Now I am frightened to think that this shit is being gobbled up by impressionable youth and the even more frightening fact is that some people still call this ART.
