Album: Entourage soundtrack Artist: Various I recently got sucked into watching Entourage. I make a very conscious attempt from getting hooked on a series as, lets face it, you end up watching it every chance you get, bloody alluc.org ! But HBO started showing it just about the time I'll crawl out of a drunken slumber on a Sunday afternoon so it makes for good numbless brain activity. The choice of music however has never been an element that has, for me, made the show stand out. When four guys are going from one party to the next in their convertable around L.A you don't really expect much more than club themed rap, and thats what this soundtrack pretty much has to offer. There is not too much variety on here, 3 of the tracks out of the total 14 are not top 40 rap songs, and those 3 are all mediocre rock based tracks... Well Jamie T's 'Salvador' is a pretty cool tune. But to sum up the majority of the rap tracks they are all core examples of the (negative) influence 50 Cent has had on hip-hop in the past few years, so if you like 50 you'll more than likely love this CD. One big dissapointment is Dead Prez's classic 'Hip-Hop' has been included but as a remix that does no justice to the original. I'm also flummoxed as to why they chose to include the remix, as in the show they use the original!?' Anyway to sum up this CD for all Hong Kongers, if you enjoy the music played in the majority of clubs here, you'll appreciate every minute this soundtrack has to offer. 1.
