Adi Dassler developed Superstar with the inspiration of adidas’ earlier basketball shoes – All Round, Supergrip and Pro Model. Superstar was first introduced in 1969, came to the feet of select players in test trails and was officially introduced to the public till 1970.

It transcended its natural home of the basketball court to evolve into the cultural fixture and timeless icon later.

Within a few years of introduction, it was being worn by over 75% of all NBA players, proof of its revolutionary technology. In the next few years, it was advanced from the court of the sidewalk and later into the public’s consciousness, including the collectors and fans of sneakers.

In 1986, Run DMC recorded their tribute “My adidas”, establishing “Superstar” as a mainstay on the global cultural and fashion platform. Most importantly, “hip-hop” and adidas remain forever linked.

adidas Superstar had gone from its natural terrain of the basketball court, dance floor and linoleum to gracing the catwalk. Spawning a whole family of shoes endowed with the Superstar name and attitude, it had become the most famous shoe silhouette in the world. The evolution of adidas reflected not only its versatility and timelessness as a shoe but also defined it as something with a rich cultural tapestry.

AHHH DAMN IM TOO LATE!
Iv been buying the adidas Superstar (I and II) for ages, got a pair here as well, but its falling appartment and Im ready for a new one. If I win or not, Ill have a new pair sooner or later, cant live without em. It must be the 10th pair or something.

Time and time again, Adidas have shown that they are the champions when it comes to sneakers. Adidas clothing has been a worldwide phenomenon since it first hit the stores and have been a wardrobe must have since.

The Superstar basket ball shoes show a clear evolution of the Adidas brand. They are funky, yet cl*****ic, sporty and most of all comfortable. They are synonymous with hip hop as only the best of the best have worn them. These shoes are truly iconic to our culture today.

has awesome styles to choose from, unique.
35th Anniversary supersars had so many different styles, my fav was the Adicolor & the upper playground.
