Clockenflap is back!
Brace yourselves, the award winning 2-day music and arts festival - Hong Kong’s answer to Fuji Rock, Summer Sonic & Reading, returns bigger and better than ever!

Hong Kong has never seen a festival of this scale or calibre, positioned virtually in the middle of the harbour at the much anticipated West Kowloon Cultural District. Festival attendees will be immersed in music, film and art with the most spectacular view that Hong Kong has to offer. This year’s attendance is expected to exceed 12,000 people over the duration of the weekend.

“The first three Clockenflap's have been hugely successful,” says Festival director Mike Hill. “And this year sees the natural growth of the festival in terms of scale, attendance and line-up. We are working closely with our partners the British Council and SCMP to make this year’s event truly outstanding and West Kowloon provides the perfect setting”

The festival now comprises: two large outdoor stages, 2 electronic stages, an acoustic stage, an international film tent, live-art installations, a flea market, a kiddies play area, chill-out bar areas, an exclusive VIP room, international cuisine and much much more. Clockenflap is a not-for-profit organisation, and once again the festival has made a strong commitment both to charitable fundraising with Operation Santa, as well as environmental action with on-site recycling stations and awareness programmes.

And the biggest surprise is yet to come.  This year entry is entirely free. Yes, you heard correct, Clockenflap is FREE to attend for 2011. All you need to do is register online at www.clockenflap.com  from October 31st to receive a complimentary weekend pass (subject to capacity).

With all eyes on the line up, Clockenflap is proud to announce the first round of artists performing this year.

Headlining the Saturday evening main stage are Bombay Bicycle Club.  “One of Britain’s greatest bands” says the Sunday Times, Bombay Bicycle Club are amongst the most current and exciting acts on the live circuit.

Joining them on this year’s line-up includes the pioneering electronic artist/producer Luke Vibert (AKA Wagon Christ) and New York indie darlings The Pains of Being Pure at Heart.

Clockenflap has of course always been committed to showcasing some of Hong Kong's finest locally raised bands, and this year the likes of Supper Moment, Noughts & Exes, The Evening Primrose, DP, 9 Maps and many others are set to perform across our stages over the weekend.

Within the film tent, film shorts, music videos and animations will be presented from Future Shorts (UK), Carbon, Mustard and an extensive programme of local indie film-makers’ works.

Installation art pieces will feature across the entire festival site from local artists, Salon de Pigeon, ST/ART, Aeroporto and more.
