This summer, Hong Kong will see the staging of the first-ever “Summer Pop – Live in Hong Kong”. Organised and produced by the Performing Industry Association (Hong Kong) Limited and presented by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), this music festival is meant to bring together local residents and visitors during the hot summer days, where they can enjoy the exciting sights and sounds of Hong Kong, as well as a memorable musical journey.

The two-day “Summer Pop – Live in Hong Kong” will be held at Asia World-Expo on 15-16 August 2009. Carrying the theme “The Concert of Hongkongers”, the event will run from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm each day with relay performances by more than 80 guest performers, including singers and bands from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other parts of Asia. Together they will mesmerise audiences with famous pop songs in Hong Kong and Asia from different decades, including classic hits, TV and movie scores, upbeat music, as well as hip and funky dance. There will also be BAND SOUND and new crossover of different music genres. Along with a festive carnival setting, visitors and local residents will enjoy truly spectacular and entertaining performances. Full-day passes to the concert will be available at HK$500 and HK$350, and will be sold through the URBTIX outlets from 3 July.
