The Vaccines live in Hong Kong 2012

Articles - Entertainment

The Vaccines will be playing in Hong Kong at the KITEC Auditorium on February 11th, 2012.

“What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?” is the debut album from this West London band; eleven slamming tracks laid down “quickly and painlessly” in just under a month late last year, this is a record that favours ‘the song’ over all other disciplines and has seen the band literally and immediately jet propelled onto the scene and all over the music charts. Coming in third on the BBC Sounds of 2011 and racking up three nominations for “Best New Act” from the MTV, Mojo, and Q Awards this indie quartet has hit the ground running and are only picking up the pace. Singles like ‘Wreckin Bar (Ra Ra Ra)’ and ‘Post Break-Up Sex’ perfectly showcase the kick-and-rush-riffarama of The Vaccines’ default setting. They’re much like modern lullabies, songs that wriggle their way into your consciousness and won’t let go.

“We never set out with any sort of mission statement, but when we first started playing we quickly realised that through our shared love of the ‘perfect pop song’ there was a real bond, we all felt really invigorated and excited by the music we were making,” says band mate Justin Young. “If there was ever any quest, it was to create direct pop music with depth and emotion, the sort of stuff that The Modern Lovers, The Velvet Underground and The Clash made sound so easy.”

So what did you expect from The Vaccines? Join us on Saturday, February 11th and we promise you won’t miss out.
