WMC I-1 WORLD Grand Prix 2009 in Hong Kong

ImageOn the 21st April 2009 the WMC I-1 WORLD Grand Prix returns to Hong Kong at HITEC, Kowloon Bay for one night of Muay Thai fights with fighters from Hong Kong and overseas.

I-1 is a live show that guarantees the audience thrilling matches of skillful boxers all around the world. Merely the bravest, hardest and strongest are selected to join the show.

‘I’ means number one or top rank.I-1 promotes under three brands: I-1 Grand Prix will consist of 8 men in an elimination tournament.  I-1 Grand Slam consists of 4 men in an elimination tournament. I-1 Super Fights is a single Competition. I-1 is not only an exhibition fight, but a worldwide Muay Thai competition. Ever since the great success of the first event in 2005, I-1 became one of the most recognized international Muay Thai events in the world.

Event Program

There will be 8 Top level fighters (they own the World title, specific region/country champion) from different countries involved within the tournament.

8 fighters will be in first round, 4 fighters in second round, and 2 fighters in final round. The winner of these rounds will be the champion of I-1 world champion 2009.

There are 7 matches in total in one night. There will also be a mix of four additional special matches together. The duration of the whole night event is around 4 hours.

The event will be telecasted on the World Muaythai Council network in over 100 countries.

Once again, in the 65 kg World Grand Prix, there are 8 champions from 8 countries. At the end of the day, there will be only one KING!
