There are countless bars in Soho and Central that comes and goes, and another has popped up on Pottinger that we have decided to put on our frequent list. It’s not often that a bar checks all the boxes, but Rude (or the old Killa) definitely has us intrigued. Check out what they have in store down below.
Smack right on Pottinger and a stone’s throw away from Lan Kwai Fong, Rude is great for after-work drinks or pre-game shisha with a bunch friends who wants to relax before a long night ahead. Being a sports bar, Rude always has real-time games playing on their giant projector screens and TVs, and if you need some entertainment, their foosball table can keep you playing for hours on end.
We were invited to check out the bar out for ourselves, and had a couple of cocktails with shisha to boot! We loved the Wicket Romance ($125HKD), only available during Cricket World Cup period, which had a sweet passion fruit flavor that’s not too overpowering. If you’re looking for something more classic, their signature Cosmopolitan 1934 ($95HKD) definitely has more of a kick. We also tried the Cumbler ($95HKD), which albeit was refreshing, left us rather curious about the onion bits floating on top of the drink.
Apart from drinks and fun, they also serve an array of food, including lunch sets, seafood platters, pastas and more. They also do breakfast on Sundays, so if you live around the area, this may be a good spot to try out.
Happy hour prices are good, with drinks going at two-for-one and shisha at $125HKD a pop from 3-9pm every day. They also have live band on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8:30pm, as well as Salsa Fever parties every Friday from 9pm with free entry and salsa lessons! If you’re looking for a place to hang with the lads and watch some games, be it football, cricket or tennis, Rude is one to add to your list.
