After a successful set in Hong Kong earlier this year, DANNIC made another awesome comeback to Asia last week. We took this chance to speak to the rising star about his Asia Tour, his latest releases and his plans for the holidays.
Are you looking forward to returning to Hong Kong on your Asia tour?
Very much! I last toured Asia in May so it feels like so long ago! I love the energy the crowds bring here and the fans are just crazy!
What is your favorite thing about Asia?
The energy from the crowds and that the cities are always buzzing, so bright and exciting, exploring them feels like another world!
Are you familiar with any local artists or DJs from over this region?
There are so many up and coming producers and DJs rising on the scene, so I always try to check out the local talents that are at the venues.
Tell us about your recent releases, "Feel Your Love" was a huge Beatport smash!
Thanks! I was excited to get that track out after playing it at festivals all over this summer, Tomorrowland was especially a huge moment! I’m glad the fans received it well too, you know? I’ve been working on a new ID called ‘Light The Sky’ too that’s been getting a lot of love on the live circuit. I worked with Aïrto who is an amazing talent from The Netherlands and I was excited to come together on this one and make a huge party anthem from his original vocal.
What about stuff you're working on in the studio? What releases do you have coming up?
I have ‘Light Up The Sky’ and a few other working ID’s that I’m very excited about, keep your eyes out!
Are you glad that festival season is over?
Festival season can be exhausting but so much fun, so I guess no! The weather is better in the summer than the winter of course and it’s cool to see so many of my friends coming together at events all over the world.
Tell us about your Fonk label that you recently launched, when can we expect the first release?
Very soon! I launched Fonk Recordings at ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event) at a van demo drop, so many people came out to play me their music and show support, I’m looking forward to taking it to the next level in 2016!
Are you looking forward to a break at Christmas? How do you like to celebrate?
Yes, very much! A lot of food and a lot of family time, I have about a week off and then it’s over to Portugal for our New Years Eve Revealed party where we are doing 2 shows in 2 cities on 1 night! Looks set to be crazy!
What do you plan to do on your days off when you visit us over here?
Check out the cool restaurants and grab some street food, just explore the beautiful cities and sights.
Finally, what message would you like to leave your Asian fans with?
Thanks for all the support and love, can’t wait to see you all at a show this week!
