Ministry of Sound presents Jake Duval appearing exclusively at Beijing Club, Hong Kong’s quintessential super-club. Brighton based Jake Duval has been playing alongside some of the finest DJ talent that dance music has to offer, with residencies scanning the globe.

With a DJ career that has spanned over 14 years, Jake’s sets have been described as a musical journey, covering a range of house music styles. Be sure to catch Jake when he brings his energetic style exclusively to the Beijing Club dance floor.

Jake Duval Biography

Brighton based Jake Duval has been a resident DJ for Housexy for the past 3 years, playing alongside some of the finest DJ talent that dance music has to offer.

With residencies scanning the globe Jake has head lined for Housexy making a name for himself wherever plays.  With a DJ career that has spanned over 14 years, you will find yourself taken on musical journey that will cover all genres of house music. 

To describe Jake's music would be "Chunky & Funky" your feet won’t touch the ground hearing one of his sets.  Jake has a weekly residency at Brighton's top club "Revenge" and supporting on weekly rotation at the sophisticated "Merkaba" at Myhotel, Brighton’s coolest new venue.

About Ministry of Sound

Ministry of Sound – the club – opened in London in September 1991 and has since established a cult following among clubbers worldwide.

Celebrating its 18th Birthday this year, the venue remains at heart of the brand as it’s where the story began and has also been the catalyst for the company’s many brand ventures and extensions.

Inspired by the US house music movement James Palumbo, Ministry of Sound’s founder and visionary, established Elephant & Castle in London as the venue’s location and opted for an unused bus depot for its infrastructure due to its raw and unkempt warehouse character that was the dominant clubbing environment of the early 90’s.

The vision was to import many of the world’s most famous DJs to the UK enabling dance music fans access to the music they adored and the DJs that played and produced it. And of course supply this on a soundsystem like nothing ever experienced before in clubland, an achievement the venue can still boast today. For many years Ministry of Sound, London has been hailed as the ‘House of House’ as DJ input and musical output has always concentrated on the many genres of house music. As dance music has evolved, the club output has consistently been at the forefront of the scene with its DJ line up and musical policy delivering over and above the clubbing call of duty. Ministry of Sound is the only club in London to currently hold EXCLUSIVE RESIDENCIES with Pete Tong, Sander Kleinenberg, Mark Knight & Steve Angello.

Saturday nights at Ministry of Sound have consistently remained loyal to the house music circuit with the current ‘Saturday Sessions’ inviting clubbers from far and wide to indulge in the many genres’ that house music employs - all played by the world’s most revered and talented DJs and producers.

Friday nights have been slightly more varied in style. With the launch of Smoove back in 2000, an urban night that continued for five successful years and also the launch of Switch in 2005 which established itself as the freshest and most upfront of all the capital’s club nights presenting an eclectic mix of Drum & Bass and Hip Hop. 2009 saw the beginning of a new era for Friday nights with The Gallery moving to Ministry of Sound bringing with it the best in contemporary and classic Trance.

Ministry of Sound, London is a venue that not only started a worldwide music and lifestyle brand but also created the UK’s clubbing movement as we know it today. It introduced the DJ to the dancer, the promoter to the party and the establishment to the movement.

Tai Pan Dan Biography

Dan is a DJ out of pure passion.  Born and raised in London he has always been deeply immersed in a variety of music styles, but his love for House music, Disco and Soul has always prevailed.

Whilst in London Dan made regular appearances at some of capital’s greats including Fabric, Pacha, The Cross, The End, Nylon and Sugar Reef.  Along with working in London’s largest nightclubs he made appearances at exclusive private events in venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, The Royal Society of Arts, Grosvenor House and Noble Rot.

After leaving London, he made a solid coverage of Sydney and is now based in Hong Kong where he has put his 8 years of experience into good use playing at Ministry of Sound and Hed Kandi events along-side Pete Gooding, David Dunne and Jim Breese in his first year alone.  Being on the line up for Hed Kandi and Ministry of sound wasn’t quite enough and so Dan founded “Opium Soul” with fellow DJ Arun R.  A night of soulful and deep house music and the pair have taken the promotion to new levels with electrifying nights at prominent venues in Hong Kong.

Now a Soul Heaven representative for Hong Kong and on the line up for regular appearances at “Pure House” in Beijing Club the coming year is looking familiarly busy. “There are simply not enough weekends in the year!”

Along with all this you can find Dan spinning at Hong Kong’s most prestigious venues such as FINDS, Armani Bar, Beijing Club and Zuma.
