After opening in early November, Pastis promises to introduce Hong Kong diners to a genuine French bistro experience.
This cosy and cheerily lit restaurant & bar boasts an authentic French atmosphere with leather banquettes, raw wood finishing and antiques flown in from France to create that French bistro feel.
As with the ambience of the venue, the food is not overly complicated, rather it is what authentic French bistro dining should be, simple yet tasty dishes, using quality ingredients.
Soak up the décor, notice the authentic antiques, people watch as walk-ins and late comers filter in and out of this sociable venue situated in the heart of Central, Wyndham St. and enjoy a delicious meal brought to you by the delightful team at Pastis.
Be sure to sample the homemade duck rillette or perhaps the Escargot. If you want to get really serious, the Beef Burgundy and the Tiger Prawn Flambée with pastis is not to be missed. After the mains, be sure to try dessert, and fear not for your wallet as the bill is guaranteed to be reasonable as prices for most dishes vary between $50 and at most $148.
Pastis is the first concept from Olivier Caisson and Jerome Spitzer of French Creations. Olivier Caisson, managing director of French creations says, “While French gastronomy is all about avoiding a ‘faux pas’ here at Pastis we welcome you as you are. Wear what you want, eat and drink as you like and enjoy. After all what happens in Pastis, stays in Pastis’
Yet another highlight to this little gem on Wyndham Street is that many of the recipes have been handed down from generation to generation. In order to ensure the authenticity of the food, Jerome Spitzer, Operations Director of Pastis, brought his mother over from France to train his chefs. Spitzer says ‘ Our concept is all about the products and staying true to what French bistro food is all about.’
Pastis is set to become a favourite for both diners and social butterflies on Wyndham St.
