Spanish singer-songwriter RUSSIAN RED will give her first concert in Hong Kong in this November.
Known by many as the Spanish Fiest, singer-songwriter Russian Red (Lourdes Hernández) has become one of the biggest artists in Spain since the release of her debut album "I Love Your Glasses" in 2008. She debuted as a live performer playing in small clubs in Madrid, quickly moving on to theatres and clubs around the world. Russian Red possesses very special songwriting skills, an exceptional voice and a natural ability for connecting with her audience. Her debut album sold over 40,000 units, thus reaching gold record status. She played live in Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, United States, Mexico, Costa Rica and Belgium, among other countries. From April 2008 to December 2009, Russian Red gave over 200 concerts, some of which took place as part of the most important music festivals in Spain and in the rest of Europe (FIB, Primavera Sound, Jazzaldia, Eurosonic…).
All these achievements made Russian Red the most relevant new artist in the Spanish music scene. She received a Pop-Eye award in the "Best Debut Album 2008" and "Best Female Vocalist 2009" categories. She also received three nominations for Premios de la Musica in 2009, thus proving her success. At the same time, her music's irresistible appeal made her songs to be included in several important advertising campaigns, TV shows and feature films, such as Julio Medem’s Room in Rome. This film won her a nomination for a Goya award in 2011 (the Spanish equivalent to the Academy Awards®) in the Best Song category for Loving Strangers.
Besides, Sony Music will release her “Fuerteventura” (Asian Tour Edition) at the end of this month, which’s included 2 un-released songs as “Conquer The World” & “MI CANCION”, plus several live tracks and Music Videos (with “making of” footage) as the bonus DVD.
