LTJ Bukem featuring MC Conrad – Bukem in Session – Hong Kong 2012

The legendary drum ‘n’bass duo, LTJ Bukem & MC Conrad are making their second visit to Hong Kong having smashed it at Hyde in 2011, with the undisputable party of the year.

Like many a dance music producer, Bukem went from being a precocious teenage musician to an acid house convert in the late ’80s. He was soon behind the decks at some of Britain’s biggest raves, and before long had also issued his first track, “Logical Progression”. The song’s expansive sonic vistas and chilled vibe provided a blueprint for Bukem’s take on drum ‘n’ bass, one that would bring it to the mainstream.

By the mid ’90s he had his own recording label, Good Looking, and his own event, the legendary Speed at Mars Bar in London. Around this time Bukem also started to visit Asia, mainly playing in Tokyo, throwing down epic sets at the old Liquidroom in Kabukicho, one of which is featured on the release, Progression Sessions Vol. 7.

The outing not only documents Bukem’s flawless mixing, but also shows off the abilities of his steadfast right-hand man, MC Conrad. Hooking up with Bukem in the early days of raving, Conrad has the ability not only to rev up a crowd but also to sing, which he does with a powerful, resonant voice. Together, the pair became drum ‘n’ bass’ definitive DJ/MC partnership.

The main act will be supported by the White Label Crew, DJs Arkham and Fat Demon who have been a steadfast staple for the drum ‘n’ bass fraternity in Hong Kong for well over 10 years. VJ 4RM will provide the visuals for the night and Lukas from PUSH is taking charge of the lights for both rooms - so you know what to expect!

The second room will be hosted by PUSH, the techno/tech-house posse of DJS Frankie Lam, AKW and Lukas who have been making a lot of noise at events such as their monthly residency at Volar, the Summer/Winter Daybreak events at Langham Place Hotel and the SPLASH summer pool parties since 2009.

Bukem and Conrad have continued to release classic albums, including the recently released Fabric Live #46, as well as play a host of Global Tours; Hong Kong welcomes the Good Looking boys back for an unforgettable night of entertainment.
