After a triumphant debut last year, Asia’s leading craft brewer, Young Master, is bringing back its signature invitational beer festival, YMIBF, to Hong Kong this May.
Over 20 brewers from all over the world, each among the highest rated in their respective regions are flying over for the two-day festival and bringing over 160 of their unique creations. Beer geeks and craft-curious drinkers alike will not only be able to enjoy these distinctive beers, but also interact with the beer makers directly and learn about their craft first hand.
Hosted at the newly revamped, House 1881, formerly the Marine Police Headquarters in the middle of bustling TST, the festival will be split into four different free flow tasting sessions. Each session has a unique stylistic theme, kicking off with one focused on hop-forward beers.
Another session is dedicated to sour beers only and the next focused on the contrast between “session” (low to moderate alcohol) and “strength” (high alcohol) beers. Concluding the weekend is a “freestyle” session featuring a selection of creative, category defying beers. Festival goers can not only taste some of the best beers in the world but also delve deeper into specific style categories and appreciate nuanced differences with side-by-side tastings.
