Best Beer in Hong Kong?

Postby nick-w » 14-03-2006 10:20 PM

I like carona and some nice german beers like erdinger. I find most beers in hk from the tap are really rough to drink coz of the water.

In the UK beers are so damn sooth!

How about you guys?

Hoegarden all the way...

yes, san mig taste like ass, hence the suprisingly low price. But I think if u wanna talk about sh*t beer, u havta give it to the canadians.... Molson is double of san mig on the sh*t scale, believe me.

Question, is foster's any good, was in the UK about a week ago and seems to me everyone ova there is drinking that stuff everywhere i go!!

Fosters and Carling is quite a standard drink in UK pubs, and reason being is that its one of the cheapest drinks on offer. Funny thing is that in Australia, the locals don't touch it with a bargepole. To them, Foster is amber crap. Plus its brewed in the UK if you happen to be drinking it there.

A new beer I've come across in the UK is Brahma, which is the number one beer in Brazil. Quite nice and refreshing and served with a lime wedge like Sol and Corona.

I can see that ASOT likes good old "wifebeater" the standard drink of choice in the UK, lol

Leffe is a nice strong Belgian "white" beer, bit nicer than Hoegaarden.
Anybody tried Kronenberg 1664 Blanc? Has a really fruity edge to it.

Is the draught in HK really that bad??!! You guys normally stick to bottles??

Tried a new beer which my Uncle introdcued me to while at the Dai Pai Dong yesterday. Local China brew called "Harbin" in a 600ml ice-encrusted design bottle. Nice clear crisp taste, 5% alcohol (which is a reasonable strength).

My sis in law compared it to Budweiser.

Same way here dude.

I prefer Guiness on tap here.. or in the can it just tastes plain weird if its from the bottle.. Otherwise Stella is good
