Bomb the Bass - Future Chaos
It’s been 21 years since they first emerged back in the day of acid house. A new decade means a new sound: they are now a five piece band and have managed to successfully gather a wide array of different musicians to collaborate and create Future Chaos. The opening track is a fine introduction into the synthesized electronic sounds with a subtle Depeche Mode-like hint (which is not so surprising as Tim Simenon has re-mixed the groups work).
It’s a real mix of an album, Old John oozes sexiness and on the other side Black River is almost hypnotic layered with the soft voice of Mark Lanegan. There are some haunting vocals that are mixed with the simple sounds creating a dark and eerie, but enjoyable album.
