Early Birds

Postby Guest » 31-05-2005 12:17 PM

musicasia he does have a good point early bird does work and has not been done much lately, but then again to get more people for a successful hitec event it would need to appeal to a larger audience.

earlybirds no cause then everybody excpect cheap tickest and they wait last minute untill the promoter have no choice to give it to them to fill up the place i think u know how much is hitec is over 250 000K plus bar garantee and all you need to put upfront 450000K Common guys...

Somone like Fatboy Slim or other more accorss the board artists would bring out people who dont usually go to dance parties at Hitec.

It would also be great if the police and fire department would let promoters be more creative with the venue and break it up a bit so that it can be transformed into something more attractive than just a greay hall

GREAT POINTS :smt023

Well, a man that is proud of his work would show it to the world and even brag about it. You have done neither and I refuse to go on a goose-chase since there is gonna be nothing there to find in the first place. Sure the scene has stagnated and no big djs or sponsers will touch HK for sure but if you dont try you will never get anything out of life.

just leave it alone both of u.

Okay back to the subject, early bird still does work even with a big sponsor or not. The events I helped to promote at hitec did not have sponsors, I was not involved in the Heineken events.

instead of a club or a hall, why cant the raves be outdoor? there are tons of events that feature djs playin to a crowd outdoors internatioannly.

you need a whole load of licences and they takes months to secure. Also the police, fire, government etc etc departments are very strict and can end up being a make or break on the day.

A really big risk to take with little support from orgs such as the HKTA for dance parties.

i was agree with musicasia , early birds won't work it now !!! honestly .. go to dance's aprty's raver , most of them are kids . they cna't spend much money !!! and where's teh elder ravers in ? they don't like play with kids . that's HK's club scene now !!!! at 2004-2005 also has big name DJ came to HK ! you can see the sell's report !! always around 1000 tix . and people buy the tix at last mins .

Okay maybe there is not a market for early bird tickets since that would incentivate kiddes to come over okay. So why not do a premium event then? Get a good dj over that you could charge maybe 1000 HK per head and the you knew that their would be no kiddies or worst drugies and test the water via there.

But I still think that 100 early bird tickets or a good deal wouldnt break the bank and at least you knew there was gonna be X amount of people in the event. What I dont understand is how can there be a ticket giveaway and early-bird tickets would be less effective then. By no circumstances am I telling a person how to run their business but you truly do need to lure (bring in ) new blood into the scene and I dont mean young blood by the way.
