not like they used to but still there are lots of fun parties going on. I haven't been there in about 6 months but I know my friends just threw a psytrance party. You can check out: http://www.torontoraves.com/

Hulla.info is mainly about the happy hardcore parties thrown by Anabolic Frolic but the many promoters use their boards to promote their parties.

Did the mayor of New York not close down a lot of Clubs in New York and banned glow sticks or something like that???
Mayor Guiliani a few years back made a lot of 'quality of life' laws that impacted the party scene there greatly. Clubs got closed due to technicalities. And there was some nasty enforcing of laws like dancing not being permitted in some bars because those bars did not have a cabaret licence. He just all around made it harder for people to have a good time.
The US gov't passed the RAVE act about 2-3 years ago which made promoters get charged as * dealers if there was any instance of * dealing found. People did organize to fight the act and it didn't pass the first time around. Then whoever sponsored the bill changed several things and sort of disguised it into another bill. Lawmakers in the states don't read everything that they should so it passed that time around. Then add to the whole 9/11 paranoia, increased survellience and overall eroding of personal freedoms in the states makes throwing a party somewhat dangerous.
As far as I know, glowsticks are still legal in NYC but I think one of the US southern states outlawed them.

Think theres still a few glowsticks and crasher style kids that go to Hardhouse nites.
Its not big as it used to be, but there are still quite a lot of hardhouse nights around the country where the kids will dress up e.g. Sundissential, Frantic, Wildchild, Polysexual, Hard House Academy, and theres also a lot of old skool/hardcore raves.
