Loads and loads of restaurants around Hong Kong. What would you class as the best restaurants around Hong Kong and why? is it the food, atmosphere or service that makes it so special?

To me, there are simply too many "good" restaurants out there....no "best" for me...it depends on my mood really.
If I'm on the go, I love Cafe De Coral...I love their Cha Siu Fan even though it's very low key.
But if I am to pick out the "better" restaurants, I would say Zen in Pacific Place.
Fast service, quality food, great location. (All 3 factors are important)

The Chinese food place opposite Mes Amis has good cha siu fan.
But for me, the best resturant generally is either Habibi's on Wellington street or Harlan's in IFC.
Great atmosphere in both, Habibi's on Saturdays holds belly dancing and the food in both is just so incredibly good. But in Harlan's if you do order, don't go for something typical like steak because its all the signature dishes that are the epitome of the restaurant.
Oh and in Habibi's after you've eaten you can also have fun with the sheesha. Mmm.

Chinese place opposite Mes Amis is called Hei Hei. I went to eat in that BO rstaurant near the FCC club and was not impressed. The mains and desserts were fine but not the starters. Total meal cost about $900!

Check out the website, most the the restaurants under the Aqua group have stunning views of the waterfront. Food is a bit pricey, but you'll see what I mean after you check out the site. Variety in food choices.
Otherwise,
I love Cafe de Coral too.
-Spaghetti Bolognese
-Chicken a la King
Ovaltine, it's all good.
Better than the sh*t we have here in Canada or the States.
