Hush bar and lounge, the stylish nightspot above the hustle of Lan Kwai Fong, is pleased to announce Pure Garage with DJ Platinum on Friday 27 May 2011 from 9pm ‘til late.

Garage music took the UK by storm in the late 90's and early noughties; artists such as Artful Dodger, DJ Luck & MC Neat, DJ EZ and MJ Cole released tracks and albums which left people dancing till the early hours. Reminiscing the old school beats of UK Garage, hush is hosting a night of energetic and uplifting music with DJ Platinum, straight from Essex.

Entry is free but names must be submitted to the guest list, and customers can enjoy a specially extended happy hour from 5pm-10pm with 2 for the price of 1 on house red and white wine, standard cocktails, the classics, champagne cocktails and selected bottled and draught beers.

Like so many, DJ Platinum’s love affair with music began at an early age, and influenced by an array of music from Nirvana, LL Cool J, Soul II Soul right through to the dance and drum and bass sounds of Baby D’s “Let me be your fantasy” and Omni Trio’s “Renegade snares”.

Aged just 16, Platinum stated his DJ career in many clubs across Essex and London. Over the next 11 years he had played UK garage, funky house, old skool and r’n’b at some of the biggest venues in the country, including Camden Palace, Ministry of Sound and the Hippodrome. During this time he also secured multiple residences at many different clubs in Essex such as Time and Envy (Romford), Life Bar, Sam’s Nightclub and Liquid and Envy (Colchester).

As well as DJ’ing, Platinum has run some of the biggest urban and old skool events in Essex. The first was Fruity, an urban weekly Thursday night held in Time and Envy (Romford), attracting 1,000 each week with acts such as DJ EZ, Masterstepz, Shortee Blitz, Firin Squad and Luck and Neat, to name a few. Another was Decades of Old Skool , Platinum’s biggest event that saw 2,500 people attend. With acts such as The Ratpack, Nicky Black Market, Skibadee, Shabba, DJ Swerve, Pied Piper, PSG, CKP, B-Live, you can see why these events were sold out.

DJ Platinum’s passion and dedication to music has kept him enjoying the party and entertaining thousands for over a decade, and now he plays his first ever performance in Hong Kong at hush.
